I am currently a student at UMBC with an interest in reverse engineering, offensive security, and malware reverse engineering. I love learning and some of my favorite subjects are philosophy, investing and self help material. I am always looking for ways to better myself and help the people around me reach their full potential. One of the main reasons I started this blog is described by my domain "Galvanized Security". My last name is Galvan and Galvanized is a play on that. Galvanized means
shock or excite (someone), typically into taking action
Getting into the field of cyber security is not the most clear cut path for students. Many schools do not teach skills that are necessary to be successful post graduation. As a result many students must learn on their own or join their school cyber club. I realized that one of the best ways to learn is through hands on practice including ctfs, crackmes, programming, and internships. I want to document my journey and detail how I learned things so that current students or future students who are interested can see how one person did it. I am not claiming to be a guru or an expert but simply someone who will talk about what they are learning.
